Downsizing to Make the Move Easier

It all began with the Pandemic. We operated a dance studio together, and being forced to shut down and social distance for a year was devastating to our business. We knew right away that this was it, and in the few weeks before the shutdown times, we sold most of our store fixtures, 200 collapsible chairs, sound systems, and show lighting, etc. We just had no space in our house to store all these big items.

We’ve been downsizing ever since. First Lori’s parents home, then our home in Atlanta, then our vacation cabin in the Georgia Mountains. That’s three complete households, plus our business. We sold and gave away so much over the period of three years. Cars, furniture, lamps, books, DVD collections, …. we basically lived on on selling stuff on Facebook Marketplace for 2 years. Just to give you an idea, we had a total of 5 coffee machines, 5 hair dryers, 5 buckets with mops, … 5 of everything. The H0 trains and tools from Lori’s dad, the tools from Atlanta, the tools from the cabin. We had 3 generators, 3 air compressors, 5 angle grinders, 3 sawzall, and many many more in triplets. A total of 4 sowing machines, 3 professional steamers, 8 mannequins, … The pile of photos and albums in boxes stacked on top of each other would have been 10′ tall.

It all has to go.

We are taking only suitcases shipped via SendMyBag, and our 4 pets. For the pets, we plan on giving 2 friends free roundtrip tickets to Rome (so they each can take 1 pet) and we take the other 2 (there’s a limit of 1 pet/person on a flight).
